WAGES - APPRENTICESHIP INFORMATION

Apprentice wage rates have been adjusted to the following percentage of Journeymen scale:

First year- 50% of Journeymen's wage rate
Second year- 60% of Journeymen's wage rate
Third year- 85% of Journeymen's wage rate
Thereafter- 100% of Journeymen's wage rate

The ratio of Journeymen to Apprentice Painters is illustrated below. In addition to the structure outlined in the chart below, an Employer will be allowed to hire one Apprentice Painter for every three Journeymen Painters employed. As an example, an Employer that employs twelve Journeymen Painters would be allowed to employ a maximum of five Apprentice Painters; fifteen Journeymen Painters would qualify an Employer for six Apprentice Painters, and so on.

The ratio for all Journeymen Tapers to Apprentice Tapers remains at 1:1

Painters District Council No. 30 Pension contributions ARE required on Apprentices after their 18th month of enrollment in the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program. If you have any questions about your obligation to remit contributions on behalf of your Apprentice Employees please contact the District Council No. 30 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Fund at 630.966.1451
