During the STARs event, PDC 30 held their Third Annual Wellness Fair, which was a large success. Many of the guests participated in the wellness booths offered. Booths included Biometric Screenings by Blue Cross/Blue Shield, CVS Caremark, Delta Dental, and Employee Resourse Systems. A Blood Drive was also a part of the Wellness Fair; 32 units of blood were collected throughout the day.
Game tickets and raffle tickets sold at the event were part of PDC 30's PATCH Day, held by the LMIDF. PATCH is the Painters and Allied Trades Children’s Hope Foundation, which is dedicated to the prosperity of youth institutions. Money donated to PATCH supports children’s education and health programs in the area that are in need of financial support, providing area organizations with the funds, tools, and materials necessary for success. All proceeds gathered from both raffle tickets sold - before or during the event - and participation in the various games offered went to the PATCH Fund. This year, for PDC 30's Ninth Annual PATCH Day, $6,640 was raised during the event. Those who bought raffle tickets had the opportunity to win various prizes, including an iPod, laptop, Bul-Ray player, and a 3D LDC TV.
Although the day brought overcast skies and a few moments of rain, the event was a large success. Over 300 peope were in attendance. Thank you, and congratulations to all of PDC 30's members and their families for making the event so great. Congratulations to all 152 STARs finalists who were honored at the event. Also, thanks to the PDC 30 staff for all of their hard work.
