Rapid Valve Transfer (RVT) Training
At the beginning of April, several apprentice and journey worker painters, and representatives from a painting contractor, joined a group of JATF instructors for a unique training experience.
Hyde Tools, known in the industry for its line of preparation tools, put together a training session for its new “Advanced Spray System with Rapid Valve Transfer© (or, RVT) Technology.” According to literature from the Hyde, the main focus of the system is a unique spray valve which allows a painter to transfer immediately from airless spray gun to a light telescoping pole without powering down. “The system eliminates a time consuming process of powering down and switching equipment; and a 12-foot extension pole with a lightweight spray valve at the top replaces the heavy gun at the end of the pole,” says Steve Lefaver, JATF Coordinator, who joined the group. “We are excited to have an opportunity to work directly with the manufacturer to train our members and contractors,” says Lefaver. “In this case they came to our training facility, so it was also an opportunity to show them the state-of-the-art program we offer.”
