On March 19, 2011, glazier instructor David Headley brought apprentices enrolled in the PDC 30 glazing program to Princeton, Illinois, to the headquarters of Advanced Door Control Solutions, Inc.
Participants viewed different types of closures and observed the process of tearing down and rebuilding closures. The one-day, off-site excursion mainly introduced apprentices to the rebuilding process, which, according to Steve Lefaver, JATF Coordinator, can occur with as much as 60% cost savings compared to replacing the equipment.
