Wages - Zone A
The wage rates for Painters Local Unions 97, 154, 448, and 1285 are effective July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. Rates are in effect for DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and McHenry Counties in the State of Illinois.
Hourly Wage: Journey Worker $40.98 per hour
     1st 6 Months Apprentice (40%)      $16.39 per hour
     2nd 6 Months Apprentice (50%)      $20.49 per hour
     3rd 6 Months Apprentice (55%)      $22.54 per hour
     4th 6 Months Apprentice (60%)      $24.59 per hour
     5th 6 Months Apprentice (70%)      $28.69 per hour
     6th 6 Months Apprentice (80%)      $32.78 per hour
Combined Fringe Benefit Rate: Journeymen $22.15 per hour
     NIPDI      1.5% of gross wages
     Dues Check-Off      2% of gross wages
Combined Fringe Benefit Rate: Apprentices $13.95 per hour   
   You are no longer required to pay PDC 30 Pension Contributions on behalf of Apprentices.    

*Foreman $2.00 & General Foreman $4.00 per hour over scale

Wage Rates are determined by three established Wage Zones, which correspond to the various local unions that comprise PDC 30's jurisdiction. When a Bargaining Unit Employee works in any Zone, the Employee shall receive the higher of: (1) the hourly wage rate for the Zone in which the Employee's Local Union is chartered (the "Employee's Home Zone"), or (2) the hourly wage rate for the Zone where the work is being performed. The Fringe Benefit Rate combines the fund contributions to be paid on each covered employee (Health & Welfare, Pension, Apprenticeship, LMIDF, IUPAT LMCI, IUPAT Pension, and Defense). These rates are totaled for each Zone based on employee classification. The Dues Check-Off and Defense Fund contributions are still considered employee deductions that should be deducted from the payroll check. Note that, as of October 1, 2012, you are no longer required to pay PDC 30 Pension Contributions on behalf of Apprentices. For more information, see Articles 9 & 10 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
