Skills and safety training for members of PDC 30 is provided by the PDC 30 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Fund, or "JATF." The JATF operates both a US Department of Labor-registered apprenticeship program and a regular schedule of journey-level upgrade training. Training is provided by a seasoned full- and part-time faculty of expert craftspersons at a new (2007) state-of-the-art training center located in Aurora, Illinois.
