David Arvayo

davearvayo2David Arvayo is a full-time instructor for PDC 30's Joint Apprenticeship & Training Fund, or JATF. He teaches apprentices and facilitates select STARs and Journeyworker upgrade classes. David is an authorized instructor for the national LMCI’s Supervisor Training Program, American Red Cross, OSHA, RRP, IL Department of Health Lead Abatement Course, and CPWR Hazardous Waste Operator. David is also a delegate to the District Council.

David started as an Instructor in 1999, coming out of the many years of experience in the painting and drywall finishing trades (five years experience as a painter and seven years experience as a drywall finisher). He is fluent in Spanish, and often teaches in Spanish. Since 1999, he has achieved multiple certifications and recognitions, including but not limited to the IUPAT’s Hazardous Waste Worker Training, Supervisor Training, 32-Hour Fall Protection Train the Trainer, 32-Hour Scaffold Competent Person, Lead Based Paint Abatement & Silica Awareness Supervisor Training, Vocational English as a Second Language (VESL) Instructor, and multiple Instructor training courses; the Chicagoland Construction Safety Council’s Powerline Hazard Awareness; OSHA 500; American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Train the Trainer, Blood Borne Pathogens, Instructor in Lay Responder First Aid & CPR/AED, and Instructor Trainer in Lay Responder First Aid & CPR/AED; and the CPWR Train the Trainer Disaster Response Safety and Health Training.

David enjoys watching baseball, football, and soccer. He is currently pursuing a degree in graphic design.
